A really funny episode of the Sal and Bob Show, coming to you from St. Elmo Steakhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. The One Hit Wonder is “Man in Motion,” one of the theme songs from the epically awful movie, St. Elmo’s Fire, from 1985. Written by David Foster and performed by John Parr, the song had an original, heroic purpose, but Hollywood ruined it, as usual. A brief and funny discussion is held about the NFL playoffs and the Bird Box Challenge. Sal relates a funny story about having the awesome shrimp cocktail from St. Elmo, the history of the restaurant, and all the famous people who’ve eaten there. Sal does a great impression of a Dick Vitale and Bob talks about how Rudy Giuliani looks like the monster from Krull, and completely blows it discussing Robert Irsay. The boys go wild about the 1933 Bar’s signature drink. Sal informs listeners about Wagyu and Kobe beef, and how it’s made, and the uniqueness of St. Elmo’s waitstaff. A fun foray into the nightlife of Indianapolis is held, and Bob talks about Sal’s comedy club, The Comedy Room in Wyandotte, Michigan. Sal says some listeners are concerned with our health. A lively analysis is held about the NFL playoffs, and how to get a Sal and Bob coffee cup. The boys discuss crossover entertainment in the 70’s, and their favorite show, Dateline, and Josh Mankiewicz, their favorite reporter, who will be a guest soon. The episode ends with the Love Theme from St. Elmo’s Fire.
